Trudy’s passion for contemporary art is the driving force
behind art consultancy firm Blue Tangerine Art. Advising
both private and corporate collectors on how to build
collections that include emerging and established artists,
Blue Tangerine Art provides an opportunity for clients to
combine value investing with personal aesthetics.
Drawing on an network of artists, galleries and
dealers that spans both sides of the Atlantic, Trudy’s
eye for emerging talent and her proven skill in
picking rising artists before they get hot -and
expensive. This has been validated by the
Guggenheim museum, major New York collectors
and Hollywood celebrities recently seeking out or
acquiring artworks by artists in the Blue Tangerine
Art portfolio.
By keeping her finger on the pulse, Trudy provides a
fresh perspective for the experienced collector. Her
knowledge and enthusiasm also makes art
accessible for the newcomer. Avoiding ‘artspeak’
and explaining terminology that trips up most
beginners, Trudy guides clients to confidently
develop and trust their own tastes in art.
Trudy is a member of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) and is Co-Chair for Accessions & Collecting for the Council for the Society for the Encouragement of Contemporary Art (SECA). A painter herself, Trudy’s art education spans from Sotheby’s Institute in London to San Francisco’s Art Institute. Prior to her art career, Trudy ran corporate communications programs for public and private companies in high growth finance and high tech companies in London and Silicon Valley. She speaks fluent French and holds a degree in economics and politics from the UK’s Exeter University and a marketing diploma from London’s Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Anne Trott joined Blue Tangerine Art in 2008 from New York City where she spent three years working as Assistant Director at the Louis. K. Meisel Gallery, a preeminent gallery focusing on Photorealist painting.
Prior to her gallery work, she spent a year at Sotheby’s Auction House in New York working in various departments and gaining exposure to all genres and traditions of art.
Anne’s art education began at the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied both Political Science and Art History. In her senior year, she interned for the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia and decided to continue her studies in London. She was accepted into Goldsmiths College at the University of London to do a Master’s degree in 20th Century Art Theory where many of the now famous ‘young British artists’ held their first gallery show as students. During her studies at Goldsmiths, she also worked at a small gallery in South Kensington and frequently visited the museums and galleries through out London.
While in New York Anne also completed the New York City Marathon in 2006 and the New York City Triathlon in 2007, where she raised money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and endured the daunting task of swimming a mile in the Hudson River.
